POWERSURF ANTI-BILL SHOCK

Globe recently enhanced existing Postpaid PowerSurf promos with a NEW P999 Bill Cap. At the time of the bill run, Globe will wipe all data charges above P999 for Postpaid subscribers that registered to PowerSurf.

This bill cap will only apply to charges incurred after subscribing to PowerSurf, meaning that all usage before registering to PowerSurf will still be charged. Since this is applied at the end of the month, heavy data users may encounter temporary stops in service if they accumulate charges that exceed their credit limit. It is encouraged that high usage subscribers subscribe to SuperSurf to ensure they do not experience a loss in service.

What is new about PowerSurf?

Globe has made a change to the billing policy of PowerSurf and implemented a P999 Bill cap for all customers that use PowerSurf. So long as you remain subscribed to PowerSurf, your total monthly GPRS spend will never be more than P999. Any data charges incurred before subscribing to PowerSurf will not be included in this policy.

What is the typical process when I exceed my PowerSurf Megabytes (MBs)?

You can continue to use the internet, but will be charged at your given default time- or volume-based charging rate. You will be charged for all your data usage on top of the cost of the PowerSurf promo. However, as long as you remain subscribed to PowerSurf, you will not be charged above P999 for the sum of this usage.

To check your default charging scheme, simply text STATUS to 1111.

If I exceeded my allocation, will the P999 Billing Cap be charged on top of my PowerSurf subscription?

All data charges incurred after subscribing to PowerSurf will fall under this cap. This means that the cost of your PowerSurf subscription will be included in the P999 total. For instance, if you were to subscribe to PowerSurf 299 and hit the billing cap, you would be charged P299 for the subscription and P700 for your additional usage after exceeding PowerSurf.

How will I know that I have exceeded my MBs?

Within 24 hours of exhausting all PowerSurf MBs, Globe will send you an SMS notification explaining that you have exceeded their PowerSurf subscription. It is highly recommended that you also track and manage your data usage with one of the several free applications in the iTunes Store and Android Market. Applications like NETWORK COUNTER and 3G WATCHDOG will allow you to not only track the amount of data that you use, but also set a usage limit that will cut your data connection if you have exceeded a given number of MBs.

How can I check the total charges I have accumulated on my bill?

Simply text PLAN UNBILLED to 2312 to see a breakdown of unbilled data charges for the month. Note that since the bill cap is applied at the end of the month, unbilled data charges that are reported via text will not reflect the P999 Bill cap. Rest assured, so long as you remain subscribed to PowerSurf, the bill cap will be applied to your account and any charges above P999 will be adjusted.

What is the added benefit of PowerSurf plans?

The simple benefit of aPowerSurf plan is that you can leave your data connection on and have a better handset experience without racking up an expensive bill. With bulk MB plans, you only pay for the data you use. This means that you can leaveyour data connection enabled and enjoy features like push notifications or background syncing at a much lower cost than a similar time-based offerings.

If I am on a 5-day/1-day variant of SuperSurf, will this cap apply to me as well?

This cap only applies to subscribers that are on PowerSurf; 1-day and 5-day varients are not included in this offer.

Will my mobile internet be stopped when I reached P999 worth of MB?

Once you reach P999, you will not experience any change in service. However, since this bill cap is applied at the end of the month, if your total unbilled charges exceed your credit limit, you may experience a temporary cut in service. It is highly recommended that subscribers who are heavy data users subscribe to SuperSurf to avoid any losses in service.
